Ingredients:
- 200g almond flour
- 200g powdered sugar
- 150g granulated sugar
- 150g egg whites aged, at room temperature
- Green food coloring gel
- Royal icing for decoration optional
Instructions:
Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together, set aside
In a separate bowl, whip egg whites until foamy, then gradually add granulated sugar while continuing to whip until stiff peaks form
Gently fold the sifted almond flour and powdered sugar mixture into the whipped egg whites, being careful not to deflate the mixture
Add a few drops of green food coloring and fold until you achieve your desired color
Transfer the batter into a piping bag with a round tip and pipe dinosaur shapes onto a parchment-lined baking sheet
Let the macarons sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes to develop a skin
They should not stick to your finger when touched
Preheat your oven to 300F 150C
Bake the macarons for 15-18 minutes or until they have risen and have a smooth, shiny top
Cool completely on the baking sheet
Once cooled, you can decorate the macarons with royal icing to create dinosaur features if desired
Enjoy your homemade Chonky Dino Macarons
